Facebook platform bug - Cant disable app to publish to profile

02.12.2009

Another Facebook bug discovered by Facebakers. Read more!

I was playing Texas HoldEm Poker on Facebook the other night on Facebook and since I don't like people seeing I played and I gained some score, I wanted to delete the posts from my profile, and when I did that, I clicked the "Don't allow application to publish without asking me" button.

Well I did this, and later on when I checked again - this same application was publishing feeds on my wall again. I was very surprised about that, so I thought this only affects short (one line) feeds. So I checked my Twitter Facebook app connection, and tried posting something with Twitter, and then choosing not to allow Twitter to publish anymore (see screenshot below). But again, it still did work and published.

We think this bug is a big thing for users on Facebook, and is an issue to their trust and privacy. They can then get very easily annoyed and lose trust - especially if they explicitly choose to not allow that application to publish.

Another bug was found by the Facebakers team, and wait, more is coming! Let's keep Facebook clean!

Please share this, so we make sure it gets to the Facebook team.
